Mauritius in the Top 10 Destinations for Property Investment

The Euro is in crisis, stock markets are in free-fall...Triple, Bankruptcy and deficits are on everyone’s lips. Only a few countries are spared from this critical period. This is why entrepreneurs are now tending to seek new pastures and move abroad. Mauritius is now part of the favourite destinations on the top 10 ranking of the British newspaper The Telegraph. And this rank is due to the benefits that the Mauritian government provides.

The IRS and RES schemes offer the opportunity to own villas enjoying paradise infrastructure. This status allows tax benefits of particular interest such as the absence of wealth tax, the inheritance tax and property taxes. This tactic of real estate investment outside the euro zones, and North America is a manoeuvre more and more popular. It allows one to take full advantage of what the country offers better and by securing a return on investment if necessary.

Although estate agencies feel a slowdown in demand, the sales are still relevant even if the interested parties take more time to decide. New projects are being developed and the Mauritius political and economic stability are major assets. This UK ’ award’ falls in the nick of time. The relaxation of the administrative procedures and easier access to loans to foreigners could be the next solutions to revitalize the sector... for the fans!

The other destinations in top of the list are Canada, Hong Kong and Switzerland. Later in rankings we find Gibraltar, Barbados, South Africa and Kenya, although they are rather risky considering the political instability and violence. Other sources evoke Brazil, Malaysia and Australia as direct competitors. But Mauritius with its 4% annual growth and a declining crime rate, insure its status of dream destination.
