Mauritian authorities have submitted the candidature of Jean-Claude de l’Estrac at the head of l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie,an international organization representing countries and regions where French is the first official language. Mr. de l’Estrac, current Secretary general of the Indian Ocean (COI) Committee shall replace Abdou Diouf,who has been president of the organisation since 2010.
Jean-Claude de l’Estrac was formerly minister for Foreign Affairs ex-chairman of press group La Sentinelle.
