Heavy rain warning in force in Mauritius

The Meteorological Station of Vacoas has issued on Thursday 14th of November 2013, a Heavy Rain Warning for the island. A cloud mass associated with a zone of instability is influencing local weather conditions and has caused heavy showers and thunderstorms during the night in many places. The sattelite imagery indicates that the rainy weather will persist over the island with risks of accumulation of water in some places.

The public is advised to be cautious, particularly on the roads. The highest rainfall recorded during the last 12 hours are as follows:

• VACOAS 85 MM
• PLAISANCE 68 MM
