Budget 2023-24: Extension of property tax plans

Budget 2023-24, tabled by the Minister of Finance on Friday 2 June, focuses on property taxes to boost the real estate sector.

In the case of a property purchased under a VEFA (vente en l’état futur d’achèvement) contract, the refund will be made on the amount paid under the VEFA contract until 30 June 2025.

Properties booked up to 30 June 2024 are also eligible, provided that the transfer deed is signed and registered by 30 June 2025.

The home loan payment plan will also be extended for a further year.

No registration fees or charges will be payable in respect of any document signed or executed by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
