Excellent news for Mauritius, particularly for its tourist sector and its economy as a whole. The island has recently won the award of the Best Travel Destination 2014 at the Consumer Choice Awards held on the 29th of May 2014 and organized by the British website "Brand Weekly".
Mauritius was prized in the following segments : family, diving, culture and honeymoon, way ahead of high-class destinations such as Barbados, New York City, Marrakesh and Marbella in Spain.
