Construction: More than 5000 jobs will be available this year

The construction industry shall be a vector of economic growth. This is proven by the several construction projects which will punctuate 2010. This shall result in the creation of 5000 to 6000 jobs.

They have been initiated before the financial crisis and they have been maintained. Other projects, public as well as private, have been added to the list and should start this year. 2010 will hence be placed under the construction sign. The opening of new hotels and villas falls under the Integrated Resorts Scheme (IRS), as well as the financial services operations and the Business process outsourcing (BPO), and the Ebène cyber city management should, in fact, generate a consequent amount of jobs till the end of the year. They are estimated at approximately 5000 to 6000 i.e. the construction industry will host the economic growth. With those projects realisation and the start of other projects, whether they are from the Government of the private sector, the economic growth is estimated at 4,3 % compared to last year’s 2,8 % (.....)

-  In Ebène, the Cybercity and Nexteracom towers, N.G. Tower, B & S Tower and Raffles Tower 1 – which will shelter office spaces for BPO financial services – will welcome their first clients this month. The promoters will, among others, Jade Group of companies (JGC), MaxCity Properties Ltd (MCP), the Nundun Gopee group and the Bhunjun group & Sons. The Altima group will build a third building in the cyber city.

-  IRS/RES- The IRS villas contruction of the Albion Club Med, amounting 30, shall be completed during this year’s first semester. The first Espitalier Noel Ltd (ENL) first IRS project phase, namely the Villas Valriche at Bel-Ombre (130 villas) – shall be completed this year. Furthermore, the construction of the Emerald Heights villas at Mont-Blanc, near Chemin-grenier, is progressing. “Till the end of the year, we will start the construction of 40 villas. The first phase will be completed at the start of 2011. The project as a whole will stagger on four to five years. Once completed, it shall generate 250 direct jobs and a thousand of indirect jobs”, states Lord Stephen Aldridge, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and those RES projects developer. (...)
