Center

You will not come across white beaches or turquoise sea in the centre of Mauritius. Nevertheless, it is a most interesting area with a lot of restaurants and cafes awaiting the gourmets. In this region, you will discover nice, like Curepipe that stands between gardens and vestiges of its colonial past. Take a detour by Trou aux Cerfs, one of the volcanic craters of Mauritius.

What about Quatre-Bornes which is a very commercial city. It is renowned for its market. Wednesday and Friday, you can buy food placed on colourful stalls, like fruits, vegetables or local specialties. Every Thursday and Sunday, the market is transformed into the capital of textiles with a huge range of fabrics of all kinds. What’s a good opportunity! Ébène or Moka are some of the other cities of the centres, the rainiest region of Mauritius and where temperatures are cooler opposed to the coasts.
