You are a foreigner who has heard a lot about Mauritius and you wish to settle in the country? It is now possible: you just have to buy an IRS unit in Mauritius. In 2002, in line with its strategy geared towards economic diversification, and fully aware of the significant contribution of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to its economy, the Mauritian Government has launched the Integrated Resort Scheme. This scheme aims at attracting more foreign investment to the island by combining hotel-class facilities and high-class leisure activities within an integrated resort. The Integrated Resort Scheme is regulated by provisos of the Investment Promotion Act 2000 and Investment Promotion Regulations 2007 as amended (Real Estate Development Scheme).
