Launched in 2019, it ambitions to metamorphosing the north of the island. Where are we now, two years later? What are the upcoming projects? Overview of the development of this emerging Smart City.
The resurgence of the region is underway!
The first phase of the infrastructure works has been completed. Its new roundabout already offers smoother and safer traffic towards its five exits and quickly connects to the central regions and coastlines of the island. Nestled a stone’s throw away from the Jardin de Pamplemousses and a few minutes by car from the beautiful beaches of the North, Beau Plan perfectly combines the advantages of city life and the pleasure of living surrounded by green spaces. The development of landscaped areas, offering a pleasant and peaceful setting, was also brought forth thanks to this project.
Mango village: work in progress
An invitation to a practical and rhythmic lifestyle… The residences of Mango Village will soon see the light of day! Already sold at 90%, it recently started its building works.
These residences are located in the heart of the city: a few minutes walk from shops, services, an urban park and the shops of the Mahogany Shopping Promenade, not far from schools and activities in the region. The completion of their construction is scheduled for the end of the second half of 2022.
The Mahogany Shopping Promenade, soon operational
After long months of work and waiting, the Mahogany Shopping Promenade will finally open on the 24th of June 2021! The new unmissable shopping address in the region will be welcoming you with its 52 brands, shops and services; its “Ki Pou Manze” foodcourt with flavours from all around the world; its restaurants and its rooftop with a breathtaking view of Lake Beau Plan… Promising delightful moments with friends and family!
The Strand, laying its foundational stone
The first offices located on the edge of a lake in Mauritius are directly connected to the Mahogany through the promenade around the lake… The Strand, a promising contemporary business park, will be laying its first foundational stone in the second quarter of this year. With several offices for rent or for sale, this project shall offer an optimal working environment thanks to the direct proximity of many facilities, including a business hotel. A new venture which will surely attract businesses to the region! Furthermore, the offer will also include a gym and facilities aimed at ensuring the well-being of employees, tenants and owners.
The first residents set up their homes
The residential neighbourhoods are gradually coming to life! Several families have already chosen to settle there. While ‘Le Hameau’ already hosts a beautiful community with warm encounters between neighbours, the first phase of ‘Les Muguets’, fully marketed, will also soon be delivered.
Greencoast : the final stretch
This school showcases innovative teaching methods... Greencoast will soon be ready to welcome over 160 students from the start of the next school year. Indeed, while the work of the second phase of the primary section had started at the beginning of the year, they will soon be completed, following the architectural lines and techniques of the first phase, which promotes natural light and ventilation, taking up the trends of bioclimatic buildings.
Creativity, the driving force of the city
Beau Plan celebrates culture and art in all its forms. For a few years now, cultural events, such as the Kaz’Out festival, have been taking place there regularly. Workshops, exhibitions, and other activities bring creativity to life in the Smart City, whether at the Creative Park or at l’Aventure du Sucre. This promotion of cultural and creative industries also involves welcoming international partners wishing to establish their activities in the North of the island. Also at the heart of the Smart City: Media City Mauritius, a project called to revolutionise media and creativity by developing a media and digital ecosystem in Mauritius and Africa.
