L’Aventure du Sucre
At Beau-Plan, L’Aventure du Sucre in an ancient factory converted into a museum telling the story of sugar in Mauritius. L’Aventure du Sucre goes back in history and explains how sugar has become one of the pillars of the Mauritian economy. After the visit, its restaurant Le Fangourin will welcome those who willing to try the local gastronomy. The museum’ s shops offer special sugars, local rum and offer craft products.

Grand Bassin
Grand Bassin sacred lake or Ganga Talao is the principal worship space for the Mauritian Hindu community. Many temples are found there and the area is dominated by a huge representation of the God Shiva from which emanates a calm and peaceful atmosphere. It is more interesting to visit this worship area during the Maha Shivaratree festival, during which it witnesses the convergence of the Mauritian Hindus in processions.

Casela World of Adventures
Located at Cascavelle, the Casela World of Adventures proposes several activities in the heart of 14 hectars of fauna and flora. Zip lines, via ferrata, quad or a simple visit, the Casela World of Adventures unities thrill seekers and nature lovers. Thanks to the wild animals found there, this spot is the Mauritius’s touch of jungle. Supervised and secure walks with lions are also offered.

La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes
In the southern part of the island at Rivière des Anguilles is found La Vanilles Réserve des Mascareignes, a rustic and charming park. The luxurious vegetation offers agreeable walks. It offers an abundance of discoveries through its insectariums, its aquarium and its crocodiles and tortoises reserves.

Les Sept Cascades
Though it requires good physical conditions, visiting the ’Sept Cascades’ is a not-to-be-missed event. This visit includes a raid in a canyon and the discovery of seven waterfalls with progressive stops into their ponds. The trail is rough and the fauna and flora is abundant. A guide’s presence is hence a pre-requisite.

L’île aux Cerfs
White sand, turquoise water and spectacular panoramas, ’l’île aux Cerfs’ has everything to please. The different aquatic clubs and the restaurants allow the visitors to make the most of the island and of its wonderful lagoon. The island is easily accessible by boat from Trou d’Eau Douce.

La Route du Thé
Amateurs of gastronomy will fully enjoy this cultural trip. The colonial aspect of Mauritius is represented through three stages. The visit starts at the Domaine des Aubinaux, goes through Bois Chéri and ends at St Aubin. ’La Route du Thé’ is punctuated of explanations, discoveries and tasting sessions.

Chamarel
Rustic and preserved, Chamarel offers gorgeous views and a rare natural phenomenon. In fact, a wonderful waterfall can be found in the middle of an incredible vegetation as well as the incredible ’Terre de Sept Couleurs’. Chamarel is also well known for its rum distillery offering visits and tastings.

The Mauritius Glass Gallery

Located at Phoenix in the middle of the island, the Mauritius Glass Gallery displays glass-made objects in a workshop-like setting. It is possible to admire the manufacture of those objects by professional artisans. The visit obviously ends by a visit to the glass-themed shop.
